You SHOULD know this, because it is INCREDIBLY important and something that wasn’t acknowledged until very, VERY recently.
(I did a history project on this in Y9. We got to do something from the 20th century; everyone else did, like, Marilyn Monroe, and I read a translation of Moi, Pierre Seel, déporté homosexuel and then did my project on that. Cheerful, no, but important to know about, yes.)
whaaaaat, seriously?!
In 1950, East Germany abolished Nazi amendments to Paragraph 175, whereas West Germany kept them and even had them confirmed by its Constitutional Court.
Well, that’s horrifying.
Things I did not know!
I only learned this like a couple months ago. It’s one of those things that’s like, you know, you thought shit was just about as bad as possible and then OH NO WAIT it was actually even worse
it’s like… at this point, I kind of just add some extra feelings of horror and rage and despair when I think about what’s bad in the world to try and make up for all the shit I have no clue is really going on
This is the first time I’ve heard that…
First time I’ve heard this. I must do some research and I’ll post what I find.
Usually I have a very low trust level for “did-you-kno” but this is one that I’ve had collaborated by other outside research (For example, I’m fairly certain it was discussed in Allan Bérubé’s “Coming Out Under Fire” and several other sources I’m not placing at the moment.)
